Djibouti, Libya Discuss Energy Co-Operation

Djiboutian Minister of Energy in charge of Natural Resources Ali Yacoub Mahamoud discussed improving energy co-operation with a Libyan delegation Monday (July 22nd), the Djiboutian Information Agency reported.

Mahamoud received the delegation led by Libyan Deputy Secretary-General in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Saeed Ibrahim al-Khattali and OiLibya East Africa Regional Manager Elmarini Kashim.

Mahamoud said Djibouti aspires to achieve total energy independence by 2020, and is now focused on developing its geothermal energy capabilities to become the first African country to use 100% green energy.
