At least 10 people were injured early Monday morning and some are still hospitalised at Mulago hospital, when part of a building under renovation on Nakivubo Mews near the Old taxi park, caved in.
Shops and businesses remained closed as people rescued those trapped by the rubble. Police chief Kale Kayihura ordered the arrest of the engineers and contractors, saying they put people's lives in danger. He said police would investigate the circumstances that led to the collapse. The building was being remodelled with the tenants still inside.
