Algiers — United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has donated USD300,000 in food aid to Saharawi refugees for the holy month of Ramadan, the UN agency announced Tuesday.

"As every year, the UNHCR contributes to improving food aid to Saharawi refugees during the month of Ramadan, with supplies of vegetables and fresh fruits, reaching 437 tonnes of potatoe and 125 tonnes of onion, worth USD300,000," the representative of the UNHCR in Algiers, Ralf H. W. Gruenert, said.

The UN official said the operation was part of UNHCR additional activities in the Saharawi refugee camps.
