Ghana: Female Genital Mutilation Declines in Ghana―UNICEF Report

The new UNICEF report on Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), states that Ghana is among the countries that have recorded a positive decline in the harmful practice.

A national average of about 4% of Ghanaian girls and women 15-49 years have gone through the practice against which Ghana passed a law in 1994, with amendments in 2007.
