Sierra Leonean Writes High Commissioner On Justice

A Sierra Leonean Noel A. Quinty-Williams, living in London, has written a letter to Sierra Leone's High Commissioner to the UK, His Excellency Edward Turay, expressing serious concern for the sanctity of the lives of citizens of Sierra Leone as regards their right to justice. In a letter dated July 9, 2013, Quinty-Williams said he is saddened that the rule of law is considered to be preserved for those that are mandated to maintain and apply its fundamental principles.

"I am appalled at the utter contempt to execute the duties entrusted in the Police force by the people of Sierra Leone," he wrote, noting that this should be considered by them as a sacred trust that have been breached by, may be, allowing "the sins of the flesh to override the fruits of the spirit".
