Nigeria: Jonathan Splashes Cash On Sydney 2000 Relay Team, Handlers

Handlers of the 4x4 relay team, which silver medal at the Olympics Games in Sydney, Australia in 2000 was converted to gold medal following the disqualification of their American rivals, were Wednesday given N7 million each by President Goodluck Jonathan, just as members of the team also got N5 million each from him.

In addition to the cash all of them will in due course be awarded a national honour each for their ability to meet one of the guidelines for giving honors to sportsmen and women is getting gold in Olympics.
