Police in Monrovia have arrested four youngsters in connection with an attempted armed robbery but one of the accused admitted that he was in possession of an AK-47 raffle for 10 years.
Alfred Harris, 23 denied being an armed robber but admitted to this paper that he was an armed robber.
"If I arm robber let me die" Alfred told the police while holding the functional assault weapon with his colleagues.
Believed to be an ex-combatant, Alfred told police that he had since disarmed during the period of disarmament. The other two suspected armed robbers Papa Johnson 21, and Saah Joseph also denied that they were armed bobbers, an allegation police challenged.
Police said the suspects were arrested on 24th Street, attempting to rob an innocent person (name withheld) on 24th Street.
The arrest was effect with the assistance of community dwellers who police said have promised to show the hideouts of other criminals on 24th Street and its surrounding communities.
