Angola: Minister Reiterates Completion of Works for World Cup

Luanda — Angola's minister of Youth and Sports, Gonçalves Muandumba Thursday in Luanda reaffirmed the government's commitment to fulfil the timetable on the construction of the pavilions in Luanda and northern Malanje province, ahead of 41st World Roller Hockey scheduled for 20-28 September in Angola.

The Cabinet minister assured this when speaking to the press at the end of the 6th Ordinary Session of the Cabinet Council's Economic Commission.

According to him, the government keeps the schedule for construction of infrastructure to host the world's hockey.

He added that the completion of pavilions in Luanda and Namibe is set for late August.

Gonçalves Muandumba, who was speaking in the capacity of the coordinator of the Organising Committee of the World Cup of Hockey (COHOQUEI) said that with regard the hotel issue that has raised some concerns in Namibe everything is being done by the contractor to end the work in the agreed deadline.

According to him, the president of the International Rink Hockey Committee who was pleased with the works of hotel in progress agreed that Namibe would host two groups of the event instead of one only proposed earlier.

The incumbent minister of Youth and Sports said during the 6th Ordinary Session he briefed the Cabinet Council on the current situation of sport, organisation, logistics, transport and the securing of the 41st World Roller Hockey.
