"Non violence, rule of law and due process, and reconciliation based on inclusiveness are key principles to adhere to at this difficult time," the former director of the International Atomic Energy Agency said in an earlier post on his official Twitter account.
"I ask God that we successfully stop the bloodshed of Egyptians."
He condemned the excessive use of force and the lives that were lost and insisted that he is working very seriously in all directions to end the confrontation in a peaceful manner.
He urged tolerance, resorting to humanitarian values and abiding by just and constitutional principles.
