Suspected Ethiopian drug lord Soloman Walde Haulu was arrested in Nairobi's Eastleigh neighbourhood Thursday (July 25th) for re-entering the country illegally after he was deported June 11th, Kenya's The Standard reported.
Haulu, 76, sneaked back into Kenya from Uganda through the Malaba border and did not have documents at the time of his arrest, according to police.
He is linked to a group of 30 other foreign nationals who were also deported from Kenya in June for committing crimes, including seven people suspected of involvement in the international drug trade. One of the seven, Eneke Chimenze, also sneaked back into Kenya after being deported and is being pursued by police.
Haulu was expected to appear in court on Friday as police continue investigations into his case.
