Tunisia: Deputy Mongi Rahoui Molested By Police - Wife

Tunis — National Constituent Assembly (NCA) member from the Unified Patriotic Democratic Party Mongi Rahoui was beaten by security forces as he was taking part on Saturday in a demonstration outside the NCA, Rahoui's wife told TAP.

The deputy was beaten on the head, face and stomach as he was trying to prevent law enforcement officers from brutalising a young demonstrator, the same source indicated.

Mongi Rahoui left the hospital on Saturday afternoon after receiving the necessary care, she added.
