Interim President Adly Mansour said that mass protests staged on Friday prove the political awareness of the Egyptian people.

"We should be united to build the homeland," Mansour in statements to the satellite channel Al-Hayat over phone.

He said said whoever has committed a crime will be brought to justice, adding that he does not negotiate with anyone who committed a crime against the Egyptian people.

Mansour also said that he will not accept insecurity, adding that the state will prove its role to the people.

"We call on the world to give a look at the Egyptian streets and judge whether it is a military coup or the people's will," Mansour said. He added that he assumes a heavy responsibility that he has never expected.

He also directed a message to sitter-ins in Rabaa El Adawiya in eastern Cairo and the Nahda Square in Giza saying, "the people said no, and no way for returning back."

"Don't be afraid, go home, return to work and no one will be tracked," he pledged to pro-Morsy protestors.
