As the Home-based Super Eagles battle the Elephants of Cote d'Ivoire in Abidjan, communication giants, Globacom has urged Eagles to consolidate on the first leg 4-1 victory recorded on July 6 to qualify for their first African Nations Championship, CHAN.
Although the Ivorians face an uphill task, if they can beat the Eagles by 3-0, they can still make it to South Africa 2014.
The Eagles have however, vowed not to disappoint Nigerians.
"We believe the result of the first leg in Kaduna should spur the Nigerian national team to work harder to pick the ticket so, we urge the Super Eagles not to rest on their oars, considering that the Ivoriens would do all they can to reverse the result to their advantage," Globacom said in a statement in Lagos yesterday.
"It is also our belief that the new dawn that has seen Nigeria come close to qualification for the CHAN finals for the first time since inception in 2009 will make the Eagles soar in Abidjan," the statement added.
Globacom commended the Technical crew led by Stephen Keshi for leading the Eagles to victory at the first leg, saying the success had placed the country on the threshold of history.
"We urge the NFF to continue to motivate the players ahead of this tie while calling on Nigerians not to relent in their prayer and support for the national team," the statement concluded.
