Morocco: Throne Day - HM the King Chairs Ceremonies and Makes Speech to the Nation

On the occasion of the throne day, July 30, HM King Mohammed VI will chair on Tuesday an iftar (fast-breaking meal) at the royal palace in Casablanca and deliver a speech that will be broadcast live on the Moroccan radio and television, starting 1.00pm.

A statement of the Royal household, protocol and chancellery announced that HM the King, in his capacity as Supreme chief and chief of staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) will chair on Wednesday night the oath-taking ceremony of officers, new graduates of the various military, para-military and civil schools and institutes.

Meanwhile Her Royal Highnesses, the princess will chair on the same day, a banquet offered by the sovereign in Casablanca in honour of female guests.

Morocco marks on Tuesday July 30, 2013 the 14th throne day that commemorates the anniversary of HM the King enthronement in 1999, following the decease of his father, the late HM King Hassan II.
