Dutse — The Jigawa State government through its Ministry of Health has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Save the Children International, to improve maternal health and that of children between the ages of o-five.
This was disclosed to newsmen at the weekend by the Country Director, Save the Children International, Mrs. Susan Grant. She said the agreement will foster a five year partnership with the state government on maternal, health, safe delivery, child survival and boost the number of skilled health workers in the state. Mrs Grant told journalists that the programme was aimed at reducing cases of malnutrition in children under the age of five through the promotion of appropriate infant feeding practice and policies as well as the strengthening of improved coordination, planning and implementation of maternal and newborn child health programme.
