Most prime spots in Addis Abeba are transforming under a far-reaching development plan launched by the Addis Abeba City Administration. The project, which includes the demolition of existing residential accommodation inhabited mostly by the local poor, like seen in the picture gave the city a mixed look. However, the Addis Abeba city municipality, which was established at the mid of 1942 stands still while Addis Abeba's poorest neighborhoods are about to take a step toward a transformation that officials hope will lift up the impoverished residents, help connect them to the rest of the city.
