Maputo — Mozambican Minister of Science and Technology Louis Pelembe is on an official visit to Botswana to strengthen scientific relations.
He will meet with his Botswanan counterpart, the Minister of Infrastructure, Science and Technology, Johnnie Swartz, and attend the launch ceremony of the country's digital television service.
Botswana is the first member of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) to adopt the Japanese/Brazilian ISDB-T standard for digital television.
According to a press release received by AIM, the Mozambican Ministry of Science and Technology is preparing for the digital switchover in 2015.
Mozambique, like most of SADC, is adopting the European DVB-T2 standard.
The migration from analogue to digital television in the SADC region should be completed by 2015.
