Egypt: Iranian Official Urges Egyptians to Avoid Post-Mursi Violence

Iranian Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has urged all factions in Egypt to avoid violence and enter a dialogue to end the crisis with wisdom.

Abdollahian told Press TV that "more bloodshed will only complicate matters further in Egypt," reported the Iranian news agency.

He added that the best solution is to abide by the law and respect popular vote, stressing the importance of dialogue between the different factions.

Iran had expressed concerns with the violence that followed the ouster of Islamist President Mohamed Mursi in Egypt.

Egypt's army ousted the democratically elected president on July 3, following mass demonstrations that were held across the country.
