Ethiopia: Premier Says Ethiopia Keen to Boost Ties With Gambia

While conferring with Gambian Foreign Affairs Minister, Susan Waffa-Ogoo, the Premier said his country will exert maximum efforts to further enhance bilateral relations with Gambia.

He said the two countries need to extend their cooperation to various fields besides strengthening their existing collaboration in trade and tourism, according to a senior Ethiopian government official who attended the meeting. He also stressed the need to establish a joint commission with a bid to implement various agreements concluded between the two countries.

Gambian Foreign Affairs Minister, Susan Waffa-Ogoo told reporters after the meeting that she was in Addis to deliver an invitation from President Yahya Jammeh alonh asking Prime Minister Hailemariam Dessalegn to visit Gambia. The Minister expressed Gambia's desire to further strengthen existing ties with Ethiopia. She expressed conviction that Prime Minister Hailemariam's visit to Gambia will take the cooperation between the two countries one step ahead.
