Al-Shabaab militants shot dead Ahmed Makaran Abdi, a pastoralist in the Moqokori area of Mahas district in Somalia's Hiran region, Monday evening (July 29th), UN-funded Radio Bar-Kulan reported.
The assailants also raided Abdi's livestock and wounded his young daughter, said Hiran police boss Colonel Isaq Ali Abdullahi.
The motive for the attack is unknown, but residents said Abdi had been present for previous clashes between locals and al-Shabaab sympathisers in Moqokori.
