Egypt: Presidency - Investigations With Hamas Does Not Affect Egypt's Support to Palestinian Cause

On the visit to Cairo by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and his meeting with the President and the vice President, Foreign Minister Nabil Fahmy and the Chief of intelligence service, Media advisor to the President Ahmed El Meslemany said these meetings stressed support for the Palestinian cause and the need for reaching a Palestinian reconciliation.

On Hamas involvement in violence against Egypt, he stressed the importance of differentiating between the Egyptian support for the Palestinian rights and the involvement of Hamas in some crimes against Egypt.

He concluded that Egypt does not bear any grudge to anybody and highly appreciates the Palestinian people.
