Maendeleo Ya Wanaume Organization has proposed that marriage in Kenya should be on a contract basis. The organization's chairman Nderitu Njoka said a marriage contract is the only answer to troubled marriages in the country today.
The chairman dismissed the proposed Marriage Bill and Matrimony Property Bills currently being debated in Parliament claiming that the Bills give room for gay and lesbian relationships. He added that the Bills are also biased against men.
Speaking to journalists in Nyeri town today, Njoka whose organization has drafted a 16- page e marriage contract proposal said if passed the contract will end many problems that men face in within marriage.
"Marriage institutions today no longer hold true and are prone to blackmail. Marriage has become a farce and has been compromised by false imported and artificial values in the social, religious and economic aspects in this rapidly changing world," he adds.
The organization proposes that all couples settle on a renewable 3-6-9 year's relationship contract with a reputable private family lawyer or family elders.
The proposal document has been handed over to President Uhuru Kenyatta, speaker of the National assembly Justin Muturi and Attorney General Githu Muigai.
Njoka said the proposed Marriage Bill encourages infidelity and immorality and its seems like it has been drafted by international gay activists, lesbians and feminists.
