A three-member panel of judges of the Gambia Court of Appeal, headed by Justice Emmanuel Fagbenle, yesterday adjourned the criminal appeal case filed by the former Navy Commander, Rear Admiral Sarjo Fofana. Mr. Fofona’s counsel, Lamin K Mboge filed an appeal before the said court challenging the decision of the Special Criminal Court that convicted and sentenced him to 20 years imprisonment on treasonable offences.
When the case resumed yesterday, Borry S Touray who held brief for Lamin K Mboge, counsel for the appellant informed the court that the defence was supposed to file additional grounds of appeal but in the absence of counsel, the matter could not proceed and was subsequently adjourned to Wednesday 31st of this month,2013 for mention.
