Ethiopia Exemplary in Accommodating Diversity

Ethiopia has become exemplary in accommodating diversity with the democratic system that accepts the rights of groups and individuals simultaneously, Speaker of House of Federation, Kassa Tekle Brihan said.

Addressing the 7th House of Federation and Regional Parliaments Joint Forum, Kassa remarked Ethiopia has become a beacon of hope in the sub-region for democratically recognizing the rights of peoples and thoughts.

Ethiopia's experience has become exemplary in Africa as it offers best experience in the form of the federal system and the constitution that meet global democratic values.

The system has the power to prevent fundamentalism, failures of good governance, as well as to strengthen the relationship between regional and the federal government.

The joint Forum considers the experience of the federal system to identify strengths and weaknesses in a way the process advances the system to best serve the needs of the people of Ethiopia.
