Nigeria: 2015 - Braithwaite Harps On Ending Corruption

Abeokuta — Lagos lawyer, Dr. Tunji Braithwaite, has said that except corruption is eradicated before the next general elections, there would be "explosion in the country."

He said the level at which corruption has infiltrated all spheres of the country's sector, puts the current democracy on fragile foundation and that such portends danger for the people.

Braithwaite, in his lecture at the 2013 Jesus Carnival, 37th diocesan anniversary and 170 years Christianity in Egbaland held in Abeokuta, yesterday, said the masses would embark on protest that would bring about the explosion.

"The electoral, judicial and administrative systems and practices are so steep in corruption to the extent that unless the people collectively and with singleness of purpose stand up squarely to dethrone the king of corruption before, I repeat, before any general election, there would be a catastrophic explosion," he said.
