Gambia: Agyemang Confirmed Chief Justice

A State House press release yesterday confirmed Justice Mabel Agyemang as chief justice of the Republic of The Gambia. Until this new development, Agyemang was the acting chief justice of the Republic of The Gambia; which appointment took place a few weeks ago. Below is the remaining text of the release.

The general public is hereby informed that His Excellency the President of the Republic of the Gambia, Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr. Yahya AJJ Jammeh in consultation with the Judicial Service Commission has with effect from Tuesday, 30th July 2013, appointed Justice Mabel Agyemang as chief justice of the Republic of The Gambia inline with section 138 (1) of the constitution of the Republic of The Gambia.
