The body of a newborn was yesterday retrieved from Ndarugu River in Githuya village which borders Gatundu and Gatundu North districts.
Assistant chief Joseph Kariuki said quarry workers found the boy's body when they reported to work in the morning.
Police took the body to Gatundu District Hospital mortuary.
They have launched a search for its mother.
