Egypt: Military Spokesman - Navigation in Suez Canal Normal, No Explosions Near It

The military spokesman ruled out any explosions near the Suez Canal as some websites reported at dawn Tuesday 30/7/2013.

The army troops combed the area where the explosions were reported but it turned out that no explosions had occurred, military spokesman Colonel Ahmed Mohamed Ali said.

Suez Canal security forces are carrying out their mission and the Canal area is totally secure, he said, stressing that navigation in the international waterway is normal.

Some websites reported that residents in the El-Gamaa el-Kadima district said they heard an explosion near the Suez Canal Authority Hospital which is near the Suez Canal. However, no source confirmed the news.
