Zambia: Mosi-Oa-Tunya Road Repairs Completed

THE tarring of Mosi-oa-tunya Road has finally been completed in readiness for the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) General Assembly later this month.

The road, which stretches from the Weigh Bridge to Victoria Falls in Livingstone, is a key street to the hosting of the UNWTO conference. The road, which was previously described as a bubblegum road due to its bumpy state, has been tarred to high standards.

A check yesterday found that the stretch around Zambia Revenue Authority Port Office area that remained had also been tarred and completed. Contractors and other workers were currently making road markings on the road. Inyatsi Roads Zambia and other contractors were engaged by the Road Development Agency to upgrade several roads in the city at a cost of K205,000

Meanwhile, contractors have made significant progress to upgrade the frontage of the Main Post Office in readiness for the UNWTO conference.
