The campaign, according to Fidele Ndayisaba, the City of Kigali mayor, will, among other activities, see DVDs distributed to City dwellers and those on the outskirts, with educational material showing how better the city can be improved.

The DVDs, the mayor said, will also be shown to people coming from the countryside to the City.

"We will distribute to travel agencies these DVDs so that they are played by drivers ferrying people from other provinces," Ndayisaba said at the Tuesday launch of the campaign, which is the second of its kind.

The Minister of Local Government, James Musoni, who officially launched the campaign, said despite the accolades and praises that the City has won the world over, people should not rest on their laurels.

Musoni urged authorities responsible to draw clear benchmarks that will guide evaluation on a daily basis, saying an assessment ought to be conducted to establish the level of people's mindset toward cleanliness.
