Tanzania: New Bank to Benefit Kahama Residents

FARMERS in Kahama District in Shinyanga Region are set to benefit from the opening of the new AccessBank Ltd branch that will be offering agro loans in the next two month.

The branch follows AccessBank Ltd's strategy to expand its services to the Lake Zone area and later to other regions in the country.

The Bank's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mr Roland Coulon, expressed joy as the bank fulfill its mission and commitment to assist the government address poverty through assisting the lower and middle income strata, access loans.

"We are happy to open our 2nd upcountry branch in Kahama (after Mwanza) as we are further fulfilling our mission to be a socially responsible bank for the lower and middle income strata of the Tanzanian society," he said.

He said that his bank hopes that Kahama residents will enjoy the new ways of banking which are convenient and the affordable products that will be provided.

"AccessBank loans are very accessible, attract no fees and can be as low as TZS 100,000 while our retail products are very simple and inexpensive," he explained. The Bank's Head of Credit, Mr Pawel Wodz, confirmed that the bank is in the final stages of introducing agro loans for individual farmers in Kahama with similar conditions as the current microloans for traders.
