Zanzibar — THE Zanzibar Ministry of Education and Vocational Training, in collaboration with Oman, is organising an international symposium on the History of Islamic Civilization in East Africa.
Zanzibar Education and Vocational Training Minister, Mr Ali Juma Shamuhuna, said at a meeting with a delegation from Oman that another organising partner was the State University of Zanzibar (SUZA). "This is another opportunity for people in the region and abroad to learn about Islamic civilization in East Africa," he said.
According to the minister, the symposium was planned for September 2 to 4, this year, asking people to turn up for the international forum.
Oman's National Records and Archives Authority (NRAA) is supporting the symposium. Dr Hamad bin Mohammed al-Dhoyani, NRAA's chairman who is leading an eight member delegation, said researchers would highlight major manifestations of Islamic civilization in various fields.
