Nigeria: Nasarawa Polytechnic, Nollywood Actors Collaborate On Peace

Nasarawa State has been in the news for some months now specifically over the May 7, 2013 killing of scores of security operatives by the Ombatse cult members in Alakyo village in the state.

As part of efforts to promote lasting peace and security in the state, the students of NACABS Polytechnic, Akwanga in collaboration with some Nollywood actors have produced a movie entitled "True Reflection".

The proprietor of NACABS Polytechnic David Abuluya said he accepted to allow students collaborate with the Nollywood actors because he is ready to combat anything that would be a stumbling block to achieving peace and stability in his state.

The Head of Mass Communication Department, Oyebade Adeyemi, said the students' participation in the project will expose them to the world of theatre and make them ambassadors of peace and unity anywhere they find themselves.

The movie which preaches unity among the different ethnic groups in the state, was directed by Smart Conrad of Graceland Multimedia Consult. It featured top actors like Emmanuel France, Harrison Wilson and Vincent Kanayo and some Mass Communication students of NACABS Polytechnic Akwanga.

Addressing the students, Emmanuel France, a top actor in Nollywood said actors and actresses are the mirror of the society and urged the students to emulate this attribute.
