Nigeria: NOA Urges Youths to Contribute to Nation's Growth

Mr Mike Omeri, Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), has called on youths to unleash their full potential to help to boost the nation's economic growth.

Omeri made the call when the President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Mr Yakubu Shendam, paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja on Thursday.

He urged youths to build on the gains of President Jonathan's Transformation Agenda.

Omeri told the youths to see the country as a place where its growth and development would solely be driven by their energy.

The NOA boss said that he shared the notion that, "youths are not just leaders of tomorrow, but leaders of today."

He urged them to engage in lawful activities devoid of violence, cultism, exam malpractice and thuggery.

He assured the youths of the present administration's determination to create environment that would make businesses to thrive and generate more jobs.

"Nigerian youths must be ready to uplift the well being of the country, shun what is wrong and do what is right. Do what will uplift the nation", Omeri said.

He told them to stay focused and exercise patience "as the Jonathan administration is working hard to create more jobs."

Earlier, Shendam commended Omeri for "taking NOA to a greater height" by its numerous activities.

He added that their mission was to assist the administration to consolidate the achievements of Transformation Agenda and help the agency spread its messages.(NAN)
