Kenya: South Rift Branch Launch 15-Team League in Bomet

Football Kenya Federation South Rift branch has unveiled a 15-team football league in Bomet County to tap local football talent.

Speaking during the unveiling ceremony, branch chairman David Bunei said the region is home to many football talents yet to be exploited.

He said the league dubbed Bomet County League is being used to help the county come up with a football team.

"During the league, we will pick the best players to form a county football team that will be representing us in various competition," said the chairman, who was accompanied by the federation treasurer, Wilson Kenduiwo and league and competition chairman, David Siele.

Bunei said as a federation in the region, they are optimistic the league will be a success.

FKF League and Competition chairman, David Siele said the league which kicks off this weekend will bring together teams from Sotik, Chepalungu, Konoin and Bomet constituencies.

He said the teams will play home and away games and best two teams during the league will represent the county in the Rift Valley Provincial League Zone 'A'.
