Tunisia: Political Crisis Discussed As Ben Jaafar Confers With Party Leaders

Bardo — President of the National Constituent Assembly (NCA) Mustapha Ben Jaafar conferred, Tuesday, successively, with Secretary-General of "Al-Joumhouri" Party Maya Jribi and President of "Nidaa Tounes" Béji Caid Essebsi.

According to official spokesperson for the NCA Mofdi Mseddi "talks focused on the initiative issued at the meeting of the Administrative Committee of the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT)."

"This initiative provides for keeping the National Constituent Assembly and forming a mini technocratic government whose members will not run for the next elections," Mofdi Mseddi added.

Ben Jaafar had conferred, Monday, with Secretary-General of the Democratic Alliance Party Mohamed Hamdi and leader of Al-Moubadara Party Kamel Morjane.

The talks are part of a string of consultative meetings with party leaders to discuss the political crisis in the country.
