Tunisia: Germany Expresses Support to Tunisia in Anti-Terrorism Fight

Kasbah — German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle presented his country's condolences to Prime Minister Ali Larayedh, following the terrorist act at Mount Chaambi, which had targeted the Tunisian National Army killing eight soldiers.

In a phone talk, Tuesday, with Mr. Larayedh, the German diplomat asserted his country's total support to the Tunisian experience and its efforts in fighting terrorism, the Prime Ministry says in a communiqué.

Mr. Westerwelle also affirmed his country's will to reinforce friendship and co-operation relations between the two countries in various fields, expressing his intention to pay a visit shortly to Tunisia.

For his part, Mr. Larayedh pointed out that the government is adopting a participatory approach to come out of the current situation, and is open to all initiatives aimed to finish off the transition process as soon as possible, the same source specifies.

The government does spare no effort to guarantee security and handle the urgent economic and social issues, he said.
