Angola: Pawo Urged to Hold Seminars On Women Empowerment

Luanda — The secretary general of Inter African Coffee Commission, Josefa Sacko, recommended on Wednesday in Luanda the Pan African Women's Organisation (PAWO) for holding with member States seminars on drafting national programmes aimed at empowering African women.

Josefa Sacko said so when speaking at a roundtable, which marked the African Women's Day, on 31 July, under the motto, African Renascence: The Role played by the Pan African Women Organisation.

The official also recommended PAWO for creating a task force that will follow up the drafting of 2063 agenda, which prioritise, among others, the elimination of inequalities between men and women in economic sector for the creation of wealth and promotion of development.

The source stressed that at national level, the Ministry of Family will hold periodically, panels and seminars with female associations, NGO and civil society to raise awareness and disseminate the African renaissance plan.
