Angola: Institutions' Role in Implementation of Health Policy Highlighted

Luanda — The Luanda governor Bento Sebastião Francisco Bento Wednesday here considered the institutions and professionals of the health sector a key pillar in the successful implementation of the National Health Policy.

The governor said so during a conference on "Responsibility of the health professionals and institutions in Angola", sponsored by the committees of physicians, nurses and other health professionals.

Bento Bento said that one of the objectives of the implementation is the promotion of the accomplishment of the constitutional right to health with a view to insuring universal access to health care and equity.

He also said that the initiative allows the improvement of the management of the financial mechanisms of the National Health System, by offering quality, timely and humanised services to better combat poverty and enhance the well-being of Angolans.

The governor also said that the Government backs the right to the health and medical assistance, regardless of the economic condition of the citizen.
