Angola: Women Team Coach Praises Training in Benguela

Benguela — The coach of the national senior women basketball team, Aníbal Moreira, Wednesday commended the 11-day training the team had in central Benguela province, as part of its preparation for the Afrobasket2013, in Maputo, (Mozambique).

Speaking to the press after the last training session, the coach said the team consolidated the tactical aspects, expressing satisfaction with the results achieved in preparation phase.

"The preparation went smoothly. We sought a balance in the group," said the coach, adding that it was too early to decide on the 12 players who will go to Maputo.

The session was also dedicated to discuss issues with the athletes.

He noted that the training will continue in Luanda before travelling to Spain for a pre-competitive stage, during which the coach will summon those who will represent the country in the defence of the African title.

The team comprises the following athletes: Catarina Camufal, Merciana Fernandes, Astride Vicente, Ngendula Filipe, Nadir Manuel, Judith Queta, Sónia Guadalupe, Fineza Eusébio, Rosa Gala, Helena Francisco, Nacissela Maurício, Felizarda Jorge, Madalena Félix, Ana Gonçalves, Luísa Tomás, Madalena Valentim, Rosemira Daniel, Clarisse Mpaka and Whitney Miguel.
