Kenya: School Dorm Burns Down in Murang'a

Property worth thousands of shillings was destroyed in a fire at Igikiro Boys High School in Murang'a county yesterday morning.The fire is believed to have been started by students using petrol.

Makuyu police have arrested 16 boys over the fire.The students are in form one to three.Maragua MP Peter Kamande Buku said no one was injured.He said 80 students lost their bedding, books and clothes.Buku urged students to stop torching their dormitories because those caught will be prosecuted.He called on well-wishers to donate beddings and clothes for the affected students.
