Kenya: Roaming Game Cause Conflicts

The increase in human-wildlife conflicts in Naivasha has been blamed on the high number of wild animals roaming outside gazzetted areas.Everlyne Sikale, an ecologist with KWS, said a majority of the animals are stuck outside Hellsgate and Mt Longonot national parks.

She was addressing ranch owners at the KWS Training Institute in Naivasha, Sikale said due to population pressure, the number of wildlife in the region is on the decline.
