Angola: WHO Supports Routine Vaccination Campaign With Vaccinators' Training

Luanda — The World Health Organisation (WHO) has trained until now in Luanda about 490 health professionals so as to guarantee the routine vaccination campaign dubbed "Pneumo13, opened on Tuesday in Maianga urban district.

This was said to Angop on Wednesday by the head of vaccination team of WHO/Angola, Jean Kipela.

According to him, 12 trainers of higher education level in the field of epidemiological surveillance and vaccination techniques of WHO are entitled to run the vaccinators' training.

He said that the continuous training in several municipalities of Luanda will be conducted until 15 August and expects to train about 2000 vaccinators.

The vaccination that is designed for children under two years of age is intended to immunise against pandemics like pneumonia, meningitis, ear infections and others.
