Gambia: LRR Thanks President Jammeh for Ramadan Gifts

Lrr — The governor of Lower Region Region (LRR) on behalf of the people of his region has commended the Gambian leader, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr. Yahya Jammeh for donating them 1111 50kg bags of sugar as annual Ramadan gift. The president's magnanimity, he said, once again demonstrates the continued support, love and care he has for the people of the Gambia and beyond.

Governor Darboe was speaking on Tuesday in an interview with the Daily Observer at his office in Mansakonko. He explained that the Ramadan gifts by the president, to his region have already reached the targeted beneficiaries across LRR. He described the gesture as important and timely noting that it will go a long way in addressing the needs of the people especially during this holy month of ramadan.

"We the people of the Lower River Region have really appreciated and valued the support rendered to us in this Muslim holy month of Ramadan by the Gambian Leader," he said. He promised that the people of his region will remain united behind president Jammeh and prayed for his good health, long life and prosperity as well as that of his family and the entire Gambian populace in order to continue with the good work that he renders to the people of the country, especially the Islamic Ummah.

Governor Darbor acknowledged President Jammeh's commitment to the development of the Gambia, citing his efforts towards making the country the Silicon Valley of Africa.

This he said has helped to significantly improve the living standards of average Gambians.He further thanked the Chiefs and Village heads in the region for their proactive role in ensuring that the donated sugar reaches the beneficiaries at the right time.
