The row over the state of the training facilities at the disposal of AFC Leopards at the Marist international grounds in Karen seems to have been resolved after the club shifted their training temporarily to the City Stadium.
Coach Luc Eymael--who opened the Pandora's box by suggesting that he was ready to quit his job if the executive committee did not fulfill their promise to get Leopards a good pitch to hold their session--confirmed all is well now and they were now focused on the tasks ahead.
"I am happy at least they have heeded my advice because the Marist pitch was not good for the players due to its bumpy nature. Now we are going to be training at City Stadium and I feel happy and I believe the players will equally be happy," said the Belgian tactician.
Leopards secretary general, George Aladwa, re-affirmed the club's commitment of finding a permanent training ground for the club before the season is over.
"I talked with the chairman Allan Kasavuli and we have deliberated on several available facilities here in Nairobi. There were suggestions that we take up the KCB grounds in Ruaraka and we are looking at the proposal seriously. I hope by the start of next week, we will have a solution for this," said Aladwa.
On Monday, Leopards players were taken through their paces at Kasarani but assistant coach Nicholas Muyoti set tongues wagging on the whereabouts of Eymale. The coach, however, disclosed that he was attending to his personal issues--refuting claims that he had been to Burundi to try and resolve his future.
"I was in constant touch with Muyoti and I can show you my passport to confirm that I have never been to Burundi. But I must admit I have clubs that are seeking my services but as for now I am still coach of AFC Leopards and I want to leave a memorable legacy here by winning the league," explained Eymael.
At the same time, the Ingwe boss assured that striker Allan wanga has recovered from a skin infection and will be in contention for a place in the squad for this weekend's league match against Ulinzi Stars. He, however, said defender Anthony Kimani in spite of resuming training has been ordered to see a specialist to determine the course of the pain in his knee when he is running and is now a major doubt for the Afraha encounter.
