Jesus Winner Ministries church conducted a prayer ceremony on Thika superhighway to cleanse the road of evil spirits following a series of fatal accidents in the recent past.
The church entourage left Kasarani at 7am towards Sagana bridge,a notorious blackspot. Faithfuls conducted prayers from the bridge with stopovers at Kambiti, Kenol, Juja, Githurai 45 roundabout where more than ten people lost their lives last week.
The prayer ceremony ended in Roysambu,Kasarani where the church is located. Speaking during the prayer ceremony Reverend Edward Mwai said the accidents do not happen because the road is new to most motorists but blamed devil worshipping.
He however called on motorists to be extra careful and honour traffic rules. He appealed to the traffic department to fully implement the famous 'Michuki laws".
He said road safety is a collective responsibility of all road users. He called on the church all over the country to conduct prayers for road safety. Mwai thanked traffic department for their support during the ceremony.
