Sierra Leone: Africell Turns St. Edwards Pupil Millionaire

A junior secondary school pupil of the St. Edwards Secondary School at Kingtom in Freetown has become the latest individual to join the millionaire family of Africell Mobile Company.

Patrick Tamu, who resides at 15 Priscilla Street in the west of Freetown, is the fourth subscriber to win the whopping Le20 million star prize in the ongoing 'Ramadan Treasure Hunt 3', which is being screened live on the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) television and other major radio stations across the country.

For a subscriber to stand a chance of winning the Le20 million star prize and other attractive consolation prizes, he/she must send a blank SMS or call 777 on a daily basis.

When Tamu was asked by one of the presenters of the show on Tuesday night,N'gardie Josephine Kargbo, to choose one of the boxes from 1 to 30, he chose box 5 where the Le20 million slip had been placed by the guest of honour. Unable to control his emotions, Tamu shouted: "Mama ar don win from Africell".

According to Africell's Arthur Bockarie Kallon, the promotion was designed to observe the month of Ramadan with the Muslim community and will run until August 9, 2013 from Mondays to Fridays.

In a telephone interview with Concord Times yesterday, Patrick Tamu thanked God for making him a millionaire, and Africell for providing the opportunity for him to win the prize. "I've always had the feeling that I will be a millionaire one day and I am happy the time is now," he said excitedly.
