MAENDELEO Ya Wanaume Organisation yesterday said marriage should be done on contract basis.
The organisation chairman Nderitu Njoka says the marriage contract is the only solution to troubled union in the country.
The chairman said the proposed Marriage Bill 2012 and Matrimony Property Bills are not appropriate as they "create room" for gays and lesbianism.
Njoka said the Bills are also biased towards women.
Speaking to journalists in Nyeri town, Njoka, whose organisation has drafted a 16-page the Marriage Contract proposal, said if the agreement is allowed it will if end the problems men face in lifelong marriages.
"Marriage today is prone to blackmail. It has become a farce and has been compromised by false, imported and artificial values in the social, religious and economic aspects of this changing world," he said.
Njoka said the marriage vow 'until do us part' is a "sick joke" that should be changed to read, 'until separation, gender violence or divorce do us part.'
"About 10 per cent of marriages end during the first year or in at the honeymoon or even the evening party on the wedding day. Consequently, more than 80 per cent of the gender which contributes to separations are females. They are to blame for this," he said.
The organisation propses that all couples settle on a renewable 3-6-9 year relationship contract with a reputable private family lawyer or elders.
The document has been presented to President Uhuru Kenyatta, speaker of the National assembly Justine Muturi and Attorney General Githu Muigai.
Njoka who was accompanied by the lawyer Vincent Muguku said the Marriage Bill lacks diversity, depth and reality.
"The proposed Marriage Bill has opened a Pandora's Box," he said.
He said the proposed Marriage Bill encourages infidelity and immorality and its seems like it has been drafted by international gay activists, lesbians and feminists.
Muguku says Clause 6 (F) which says in accordance with any other faith or any other group as may be designated by notice in the gazette opens rooms for lesbianism and gay.
