Sierra Leone/Ghana: CAF Appoints Ghana Fa Boss to Supervise SLFA Election

The Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) has appointed Ghana's Football Association chief, Kwesi Nyantakyi, to supervise Saturday's Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) elective congress. The August 3 election has already been dogged by controversy as it is only one candidate, Mrs. Isha Johansen, that could stand for the presidency following the disqualification, by the Normalization Committee, of the three other candidates: Mohamed Kallon, Rodney Michael and Foday Turay.

According to reports, CAF president Issa Hayatou personally chose the rising star in African football administration to supervise the election and Nyantakyi will arrive in the country on Friday. The football administrator has been brought in to instill sanity into what is expected to be an explosive election, and the Ghana Football Association boss has an arduous task more especially when the three disqualified candidates are now protesting against the Normalization Committee's decision.
