Lilongwe — Two second half goals from Frank Banda has ended TNM Super League Champions Silver Strikers five game run without a goal as they beat city rivals EPAC FC 2-0 at Civo Stadium on Wednesday.
The holders had lost two of their last three league matches and struggled for goals in recent games, made changes to the starting eleven as they hoped for a change in fortune.
But in a lackluster first half, it was the host EPAC who came closest to scoring but striker Mussa Manyenje volleyed over from inside the box.
Silver who dropped out form forward Rodrick Gonani found their first in the second before the host had time shake off the recess off their system.
30 seconds from kickoff after the start of the half, Frank Banda rifled home a powerful drive from 30 yards after being nicely setup by the impressive Green Harawa.
Banda wrapped up the three points for host 13 minutes from time rounding off EPAC goalkeeper Onani Sengwa from a Chawanangwa Kaonga through ball.
This was last game of the champions' six month ban from using their home ground, Silver stadium.

"The overall performance was ok, we deserved to win. It was not an easy game but the boys put up a big fight today.
"It has been a tough spell for us playing away from home from the start of the season, it is always difficult to play away from home hence a relief that this weekend we will be back home.
EPAC coach Abbas Makawa:
"It was a tough game for us, we lost a lot of balls in midfield and as a result we struggled to create chances while our opponents punished us by utilizing the chances they created."
Silver next play Mighty Wanderers on Saturday at Silver Stadium and this will be their first game at the venue in six months.
